World Vision Kenya has concluded a 19-year communitydevelopment programme in Bartabwa and Barwesa, Baringo County, after investingmore than KSh231 million in projects aimed at improving livelihoods andstrengthening community resilience.

The programme supported initiatives in education,water, sanitation and economic empowerment, benefiting households across thearea.

Speaking during the programmes exit ceremony atBartabwa Comprehensive School, Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi commended WorldVision for its contribution to the development of the communities and pledgedthe County Governments commitment to sustaining the gains made.

Governor Cheboi said the County Government was readyto take over the projects implemented under the programme and ensure theyremain functional and continue serving their intended beneficiaries.

World Vision Kenya Board Vice Chairperson Dr AnneKimari said the organisation had witnessed significant transformation in thearea during the nearly two decades of its engagement.

She said World Vision was leaving behind communitiesthat were more empowered and resilient, while noting that the VisionFundprogramme would continue operating in Bartabwa, providing continuity of supportto beneficiaries.

Theceremony brought together Baringo County Assembly Speaker Vincent Kemboi,Bartabwa MCA David Sitoi, Barwesa MCA Josphat Lokorio, World Vision Kenyaofficials and other stakeholders.
