Duties and Responsibilities;

1. Wrapping in mortuary sheets, labeling and storing dead bodies in the cold room of the mortuary
2. Keeping of appropriate registers and receipt and delivery of dead bodies at the mortuary
3. Washing, cleaning, and disinfecting of mortuary equipment and instruments after postmortem examination
4. Embalming of bodies whenever required
5. Delivering of dead bodies after autopsies to relatives/parents/police
6. Placing of dead bodies from wards and after autopsies in appropriate coffins whenever required
7. Assisting in Postmortems
8. Proper cleanliness and upkeep of mortuary, cold room equipment, instruments

Requirementsfor the Appointment

1. Must be a Kenyan citizen.
2. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Mean Grade D (plain) or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
3. Certificate in Mortician course or its equivalent lasting not less than six (6) months from a recognized institution
4. Proficiency in computer application.
